Thieves Laundry Bombs are a great way to contribute to a green environment and engage in non-toxic living! All natural, these bombs are easy to make in large batches- then just toss one or two in the washer and you are set!
These non-toxic laundry bombs are easy to make and easier to use – no measuring or pouring or mixing ingredients for those of us who make our own laundry detergent. One bomb for a small load, two bombs for a large load. Besides being perfume and dye free, they are gentle on your fabrics, skin and our environment. All of the ingredients except for the Young Living products are at your grocery store in the laundry aisle and are cheap!
Laundry Bombs Recipe
In a small mixing bowl, combine:
1 1/2 cup washing soda
1/2 cup borax
2 Tbsp Epsom salts
3 Tbsp hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup Thieves cleaner (or vinegar)*
15-20 drops Thieves essential oil blend or lemongrass essential oil*
Hydrogen peroxide naturally whitens clothes and keeps your colors fresh. The Thieves cleaner removes stains and odors while the Thieves essential oil boosts the wonderful aroma of cinnamon and cloves.
Your mixture should resemble wet sand and clump together when pressed. Cover a cookie sheet with parchment paper and use one rounded tablespoon to scoop up some of your mixture, press against the side of the bowl then tap out onto the parchment paper. Finish with a spritz of vinegar and let set for a few hours until completely dry.
I usually make three batches at the time and store in plastic canisters on top of the dryer. You can use a different essential oil for variety such as lavender or citrus fresh.
