What does it mean to raise your personal vibration, and why is it important?
Picture your happiest moment. Your warmest memory- the unbridled joy of the experience- what do you remember of it? Are there redolent undertones dancing on the breath of the memory, or are they strong and vivid? Scent is our most primal instinct, and imprints on our psyche on both the subconscious and waking consciousness.
If you can evoke these memories, then you remember what it felt like to experience high frequency vibrations. Everything is electric, and in turn, has a unique electromagnetic field. The lower our frequencies, the more lethargic and sickly we become. To combat this we must continually seek to raise our frequencies, when we are at our most alert, loving, and fulfilled.
Vibrational healing is touted supreme for actively teaching us how to tap into our personal energies to manipulate our own frequency, whether that is in form of meditation, yoga, or chakra alignment.
But there is something far more tangible which may help to achieve the same ends: Essential Oils.
The Science of Essential Oils & Helpful Herbs
Having a fundamental understanding of essential oils is crucial to the successful use of them, not only for recreational enjoyment, but as a powerful influencer of moods, peace of mind, tranquility, energy, focus, and augmented overall wellness.
Essential oils are highly concentrated extracts from plants, serving the same purpose as they do inside our photosynthesizing friends: the movement of nutrients. Essential oils make up an exceedingly small percentage of most plants (for some perspective, cinnamon leaf has a 10% concentration, and that is considered high), and require hundreds (if not thousands) to create pounds of essential oils.
Because of their potency, less is always more with essential oils. To reap the beneficial properties of the oil, only a few drops are needed, whether applied topically neatly (or directly to the skin), with a carrier oil, or in a beauty product. Oversaturation of essential oils may cause toxicity- so it is imperative to never ingest an essential oil. (Although there are some who merit the ingestion of essential oils, we err on the side of extreme caution.)
Each essential oil possesses different boons granted from the plants they are derived from, and are effective based on the percentage of their biological components which include a mixture of: alcohols, monoterpenes, esters, sesquiterpenes, phenols, oxides, acids, aldehydes, lactones coumarins, ketones, terpenes, and unidentified components. Depending upon the concentration of each element helps to dictate the beneficial properties we can take advantage of to bring us to a higher state of serenity and awareness.
Some supposed benefits are antibacterial, antiseptic, muscle relief, increased energy, decreased anxiety, and negative feelings lifted. Herbs may be added to mixtures, lending their own twist of benevolence to your mixtures. Herbs are less expensive, may be grown at home, and give your blends a touch of earthy beauty.
