I have created a new Facebook group for spiritually integrated practitioners. This group is for the established and the curious.
After being in a few similar groups, I realized there is still a gap for those seeking to merge spirituality with client work. Yes, there are groups that focus on metaphysical and transpersonal approaches to therapy- and groups that focus on integrating CAM (complementary and alternative modalities) into therapy, but I see the lack in understanding spirituality from a cultural perspective.
I am offering the Spiritually Integrated Practitioners Collective Facebook Group as a gathering place for all practitioners who are or want to integrate spirituality in their work. This is a safe place to make inquiries. We learn to listen to our clients so that we can hear the full story, and we learn the subtleties of implicit vs explicit spiritual content that the client brings into session. Whether the client is expressing awe at a beautiful sunset or is recounting the reverence felt at a religious ceremony, both can be contextually spiritual moments.
We also learn to become more aware of when spirituality is nestled under the umbrella of culture, understanding if we ignore the spiritual content, we are ignoring the client’s cultural experience.
What the group offers:
This group offers a supportive space for therapists, coaches, and healers to explore the integration of spirituality into their client work including psychospiritual, metaphysical, transpersonal and Jungian perspectives. Participants can:
- Ask general questions (NOT client-specific).
- Reflect on ethical considerations.
- Deepen understanding of the distinctions and overlaps between various professions and modalities, including regulated and non-regulated fields.
- Engage with interfaith and multifaith perspectives to enhance spiritual literacy.
- Recognize spiritual literacy as an essential aspect of cultural competence and cultural humility.
- Participate in respectful and open dialogue is encouraged to foster meaningful exchanges.
- Self-promote soulful and sacred posts on Sunday!
