I’m all about finding ways to enhance each day, no matter what life brings—chronic illness, disability, or just the everyday stressors that can drain our vitality. Wellness, for me, isn’t about chasing perfection. It’s about creating quality of life, fostering resilience, and honoring our whole selves in the process to support optimal health.

And yes—sometimes, our bodies need medical intervention. This isn’t about abandoning your doctor; it’s about complementing professional care with everyday practices that keep you engaged, empowered, and connected to your own well-being.
I believe in self-help, self-advocacy, and self-determination. When we invest in personal growth and self-awareness, we strengthen the ability to listen to our own inner voice and sense what will truly help us live fuller, more vibrant lives.
3 Foundational Steps
When I meet with people about wellness, I often encourage starting with three foundational steps before tackling all ten. These are simple shifts that have the power to ripple into every area of life:
-
Explore an elimination diet
Identify foods that drain your energy or trigger symptoms. Consult your doctor about going on an elimination diet. If the full three-week to three-month process feels overwhelming, start with removing gluten (an inflammatory food for many), processed foods and refined sugar for three months and notice the difference. -
Remove artificial fragrances and harsh chemicals
Swap candles, plug-ins, colognes, and chemical-based cleaners for non-toxic alternatives. Your lungs, skin, and nervous system will thank you. -
Introduce daily plant-based support
For me, essential oils have become a backdrop to my day. This plant medicin offers grounding, emotional balance, mental clarity, and sensory nourishment. They’re not a magic bullet, but they’re a meaningful way I choose to care for my body and spirit.
How I Use Oils in Daily Life
Here’s what that looks like in practice:
-
Lavender diffused in the air for calm
-
Peace & Calming blend on wrists, neck, or behind ears at bedtime
-
Thieves blend as a natural deodorizing spray
-
Peppermint on temples for tension relief
Over time, these rituals have supported my immune system, enhanced my environment, and become touchpoints of vibrational care.
Why This Works for Me
Once these three steps were in place, the other seven points in my wellness plan felt more achievable. I’m not perfectly “on” every day—none of us are—but these three have become my non-negotiables:
-
No gluten
- No processed foods
-
No refined sugar
-
No artificial fragrances or harsh chemicals
-
And daily plant-based support through essential oils
When Resistance Shows Up
I’ve heard every variation of:
“I could never give up pasta.”
“I love bread too much.”
“But I have pets, that’s why I use plug-ins.”
“Maybe I’ll try oils someday.”
My response? You don’t have to do everything at once. But are you willing to take a few simple, intentional steps toward a healthier, more grounded life?
Three months without pastries might be an experiment worth trying. Swapping synthetic fragrances for something cleaner could change more than you expect. Small shifts, practiced consistently, can create a foundation for everything else you want to change.
Your Invitation
So—what do you have to lose? What do you have to gain?
Your body is your temple. Start where you are. Choose what feels sustainable. Let your everyday habits become a reflection of the care you deserve.
