Case Studies in Aromatherapy: Enhancing Mental Health and Well-Being

The proposed academic book has the purpose of informing the helping professions about how aromatherapy is being utilized to enhance mental wellness. The goals are to provide definitions, applications, ethical considerations, and speculation on the future for the profession on a wide range of applications. The content of the book will be a succinct series of case studies while providing cutting-edge tools and essential oil interventions for the helping professions supporting mental wellness.
Author requirements:
Authors should be practitioners who utilize essential oils to support mental wellness with clients. Authors should be certified or licensed in their primary prospective field of practice and be working within scope. International submissions welcomed!
Chapter specs:
- Approximately 3000-4000 words written in 3rd person
- How you define yourself as a practitioner
- Case Study- the case study should be “blinded” so that no identifying features are included; some writers choose to create a composite case pulling from more than one client example.

- The chapter must be written in word, double-spaced, times roman 12 font. At least 5 references to academic sources (journal articles, books, book chapters) should be cited APA style. If you are not familiar with APA please delineate where the reference applies within the chapter. The body of the chapter must be brand-neutral.
*Interventions should include the practitioner’s primary scope of practice. For instance, if you are a licensed mental health professional, include mental health counseling interventions as well as the incorporation of essential oils. This applies to other healing practices such as acupuncture, naturopathy, coaching, Reiki, etc. If your primary scope is aromatherapy, please include secondarily, any other interventions used.
Submissions
Prospective authors are asked to send a resume/CV and a writing sample of at least 500 words (essay, blog post, published article or chapter, etc).

About the Editors
DeeAnna Merz Nagel
Dr. DeeAnna Merz Nagel is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Board Certified Coach and Certified Aromatherapist. She holds several additional credentials in the healing arts. She co-founded Online Therapy Institute and is currently faculty at The Institute for Life Coach Training. She also offers an array of certification and continuing education courses. DeeAnna’s doctoral studies focused on Multifaith Spiritual Direction. DeeAnna teaches the ethical integration of alternative and psychospiritual approaches to practitioners across the globe. Danielle Rae Daniel
Dr. Danielle Rae Daniel is a Doctor of Clinical Psychology and Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Her studies and clinical work have focused on trauma, suicidal ideation, and crisis intervention. She is a published author, speaker, and researcher. She works with high-risk populations among adolescents and active or retired military. Dr. Danielle founded the Holistic Brain Institute, educating others on this integrative approach to psychology. Jennifer Pressimone
Jennifer Pressimone is CEO, clinical aromatherapy educator, and master formulator at JennScents, Inc. Her passion is empowering others with holistic health solutions to provide a greater impact in psychological well-being through mentored programs and products. She has over two decades of experience working with thousands to elevate their health using clinical aromatherapy techniques. Jennifer is a graduate of the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, Spiritual PhytoEssencing Diploma, as well as numerous holistic health and aromatherapy certifications.
